Large Files – Exclusion
-
I set the large files to ekclusion (Duplicator v0.5.0):
Create New > Package > Archive > Filters
Creating a package goes well. But the created package contains all files regardless of the filter. Why?

Hey Vipteam,
The files filter only work at a directory and file extension level at this point. If you included the file name then that won’t work as of this version. You will need to include the directory path where the large file is located. Hopefully in a future version individual files will be supported.
Cheers~
Yes, that’s it. I am persistently trying to include the filename.
I have an idea for a future version. When I make a scan and plugin shows large files, I have to go back and put it in the filter. It would be practical to have (in the Scan step) checkbox for “Enable files for exception”.
Thanks in advance
That is a good idea will look into it…
Cheers~
where do I find the filters please? I can’t find options when I click on the ‘Archive’ button it downloads the ‘package’. My screen does not look like the one on your video.
Thanks
KarenHi Karen,
The video was made on the basis of one of the old versions.
You may not use the new version? Please, download v0.5.1.
Then, follow this:
Duplicator > Packages > Archive > FiltersI hope this helps you.
hi!! whats is the exact line code to exclude folders on my site?
i have on root directory the wp installation and subdomains in multiple folders, but at the scan not exclude the folders like this…“home/alava;home/albacete;home/murcia;home/navarra;home/ourense;home/palencia;”
alava, albacete, murcia… are the foldersHow do you spell it correctly?
Hi guys,
Until now the filtering function worked fine. I didn’t work a while with my site and today after I made some changes the folder exclusion filtering is not working. It shows me that the filtering is enabled but the package total size is too big. And when I am looking at the large file’s paths I can see that it contains also large files from a folder that is in the exclusion filtering.
It is strange because I didn’t change anything on my site or didn’t upgrade the WordPress or the Duplicator plugin since the last time I use Duplicator and the last time it worked fine. Can the problem be because of some changes that my hosting may have made on the server?
I would appreciate your advice on this.
Regards,
RobertIt could be related to your host. If they do some type of account alias mapping then that could change the search path, although that can also mess up the zipping of the files them-selves. I would work with your host to see if they have changed anything and tell them about the problem… They technically are taking your money so you should probably pick on them first 😉
Cheers~
Hi Cory,
Thank you for your prompt feedback. I already spoke with my host and they said that they didn’t change anything so they don’t really know what could be the problem.
However all the details shows that there is something with the servers, since I didn’t change anything and suddenly the filtering doesn’t work.
I wanted to ask you about this in order to find out more, what on the server could cause this phenomenon in order to be able to guide my host to look for something. You are facing many situations probably.
Thank you for your support, and congrats for this product, this is the best back-up plugin I found out-there. I tried many others, paid money for most of them, but none of them do the job like Duplicator.
Regards,
