There are a few options that can increase the maximum upload size. These are listed at http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/FAQ_Working_with_WordPress#How_do_I_Import_a_WordPress_WXR_file_when_it_says_it_is_too_large_to_import.3F

in other words there’s no way to add large files other than uploading?

suggestion then would be to add a text field to allow putting in direct links to files.

There may be a solution using redirects, but I don’t use or know anything the plugin, so I’ll have to duck out of this topic. Maybe the plugin author will see this later & add some thoughts.

Just to make sure I understand correctly, you are trying to get around the upload file size limitation? If that is correct, what you can do is create a download, attach a small zip file, give it the name that you want etc and upload it.

Then ftp into your site, go to the wp-content folder, then to uploads, then to doifd_downloads. Look for the small file you just uploaded.

Now rename the actual file that you want to use to the name that is in the doifd_downloads directory, then upload the file into the directory overwriting the dummy file that is in there.

That should do the trick for you.

    GENIUS!!

It was staring me right in the face. Thanks Andy!

(Suggest you add this suggestion to your instructions as I’m sure it will help others… 🙂
