2.6.1 changed how freshness worked, and it is still not right – there is an outstanding trouble ticket, and I don’t plan to change private groups until resolved, as it is likely that the effort would be wasted.
I wrote a small plugin that reverts the freshness to 2.5.14 functionality, which may make it work ok for you

Let me know if this makes it consistent
Hi Robin,
The additional plugin does not seem to do anything. I will wait patiently for any updates…
Kind regards,
Martijn
Hi Robin,
I’ve done some more digging. The problem seems to lie in the ‘bbp PG – subforums combination’:
Suppose I have a upper-level forum A, and a child forum A-1. Whenever I make a post in A-1, and then a post in A, the following behaviour occurs: on the frontend forums overview page, the written date/time is correct (post in A). However, it links to the post in A-1.
In the example below, I made a post at 0637LT in a subforum (Delivery Introductie Sessie), and one minute later a post in the parent forum (Mentor Forum). As you can see, the date/time of the latest post is correct (0638LT), but the actual link is not (see bottom of browser: DIS 0637).

When I disable bbp PG, everything is fine. Enabling bbp PG shows the wrong link again. This behaviour also does not happen in forums without subforums.
Hope this helps…
Martijn
PS: the additional fix/plugin you sent me earlier does not help.
