Hi @vitunpaskaplugin,
I’m unable to replicate this issue, to help me troubleshoot further could you please downgrade to the 2.7.9.1 version (you can download here https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-smushit/advanced/) and confirm the issue isn’t happening on this version?
Cheers,
Calum

Hey
I downloaded 2.7.9.1 version and now it works (i can upload/insert pictures normally to articles) so problem must be in 2.8.0
Hope you can solve this so i can update plugin.
Thanks
@vitunpaskaplugin,
Are you blocking/disabling the WordPress REST API?
Best regards,
Anton

I don’t understand what you mean or how to check this. But i’m not blocking anything as far as i know. I just know that Smush version 2.7.9.1 works with my WP but not the new version. My wordpress version is 4.9.7.
@vitunpaskaplugin,
Could you please share a link to your website?
Best regards,
Anton
Something is blocking your REST API endpoints:

Maybe you have some server configuration? Or a security plugin?

But how is that stopping me to adding images to posts or uploading images? Everything works good with your older version of smush.

Ok i deactivated wp cerber security plugin. now that link works.
@vitunpaskaplugin,
Yep, the link works. Are your images working properly now?
In this new update, we’ve added integration with Gutenberg blocks and the media library queries the image stats via the REST API. So if it’s blocked, the query is returning an error. We’ll add a temp fix for this in the upcoming update. But REST API is important for the upcoming core WordPress functions. It should not be disabled.

Anton

After disabling security plugin and activating again its working again and i can add images to articles. Very weird. Thanks for the help.
@vitunpaskaplugin,
Might have been a caching issue. I’ll close this topic for now. If the issue reappears, fell free to reopen it or start a new threads.
Best regards,
Anton
