Latest update install failed

On Sept. 11th I received an email that an update of Yellow Pencil (Visual CSS Style Editor) was available. I downloaded the update — I have a paid version — and tried to install it, but WordPress repeatedly returned install failure messages. This forced me to reinstall the earlier version from several months ago.

Obviously I’d like to install the latest version. I’m still within my six month support period. Suggestions?
