Latest WordPress Update?

    Good day everyone, just a quick question with the newest WordPress website update?

    I use a child theme that is activated right now and i know there is a new wordpress update now. Do i activate my parent theme to do the wordpress update or just stay on the child theme and activate the newest update?

    I would believe i would go to the parent theme to update, but i just want to make sure?
