I second this, it’s the reason I stopped using Disqus as well. Load time matters a lot. If you could lazy load it on scroll down the page (maybe start loading at 40% scroll) so the comments are loaded while they are reading the post and ready by the time they get to the bottom i’d definitely use it again.
Also, is there any option planned to have Mailchimp subscription integration just like Postmatic? Currently I’m using this for the native comments which is very effective for comment conversions (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/)
Thank you
Hi,
Thank you for the suggestion.
wpDiscuz doesn’t have any issue with loading speed, you can set 3-5 Comment threads per page, other comment threads will come after clicking on [Load More] pagination button. So you can control the number of loading comment threads and get the maximum loading speed for your website. I don’t think it’s very necessary to add Lazy load for just 3-5 comment threads. Discus loads lots of files and non-comment components from 3rd party server so it takes a long time. But wpDiscuz only loads 3-5 comment threads from your server and it’s dozens of times faster.
We’ll think about Lazy load, and may add in our to-do list in future.
Remember gVectors, every millisecond counts.
These posts seconds that (get it?):
* Milliseconds are money
* Amazon (100ms = 1% in sales)
* Even Google has problems with page load times
Thank you Kosta92,
Sure, I see you.
Hey GV,
So does that mean this is going to be added? I’ve been reading through different comment system plugins and they all emphasize the importance of speed (e.g: https://muut.com/manifesto/#fast) since now mobile-friendly loading plays a big part in search engine ranking and one of the biggest aspects for mobiles apart from responsive design is speed.
Probably yes, but not in near future. We got lot of things to do before this.
I’d be happy to pay for a Pro version if you add lazy loading and mailchimp integration.
Hi Kosta92 and Soprano,
We got a good news for you.
wpDiscuz 3.0.4 is released. It comes with Lazy Load feature.
It’s awesome. Thank you very much.
