Lazy loading works partially
-
In the lazy loading settings, only the “Appearance” option works. Spiner and placeholder do not work on all settings
-
Hi @triptikon,
I’m not sure what you meant by “Appearance” option, I suppose you meant the “Animation” option under Smush > Dashboard > Lazyload > Display & Animation, right?
I could notice anomalies regarding this when tested with Spinner and placeholder, I’m double-checking with our Smush team regarding the workflow to see if there is anything specific being missed or not in the plugin side.
Will keep you posted once I get further feedback asap.
Kind Regards,
Nithinthanks. I will wait for a decision. You can also give your team the idea of implementing the watermark option)
Hi @triptikon
I hope you are doing well.
We made some tests and the Spinner are working, but if the image load fast sometimes we can’t notice it, for example on a cached page.
The transition is visible on incognito mode on the first load, once there is less cache.
But we still waiting for the developer confirmation and running more tests, we will keep you posted.
Best Regards
Patrick FreitasHi @triptikon
I hope you are doing well.
I can see our team made some extra tests, you can slow down the connection to check if this will work for all images:

It will simulate a slower connection and the spinners would be visible.

Patrick Freitas@wpmudevsupport12 hello! I’m not sure if I understood correctly what this is about. But in any case, the spinner still doesn’t work.
Hello @triptikon ,
My colleague meant that on a fast connection, images will load fast and the spinner won’t be visible.
What he showed on screenshot allows to throttle connection so images would need more time to load and hence the spinner phase will be longer and allow us to see it.
Did you try that method?kind regards,
KasiaSorry, but I can’t figure out which browser or program to check this in. Also, my site doesn’t use any caching plugins. And the images do not appear immediately – at least 4 seconds pass. In theory, just at this time, a spinner should appear in their place. But it doesn’t happen
Hi @triptikon,
If the images take so much to load then you should be able to see the spinner indeed, could you share a link to page where we can see this so we can check what might be going on?
Cheers,
Predrag@wpmudev-support1 I don’t really want to publish the site URL directly. Could you specify a page with an email where I can send it, and where it will be surely read?
Hi @triptikon
I hope you are doing well.
Could you please send me an email to [email protected] using this template:

Patrick FreitasHi @triptikon
I hope you are doing well.
As I replied on the email, the issue is that the images are background images, for those the plugin won’t lazy load, I suggest contacting the theme provider and suggest to use HTML image tag instead of the background image.
Let us know if you have any additional question.
Best Regards
Patrick FreitasHi @triptikon,
We haven’t heard from you for a while now, seems that you were able to solve this issue?
I’ll mark this thread as resolved. If not, please feel free to re-open this thread.
Regards,
Nithin
