• Hi,

I’m creating a BBPress/BuddyPress site that will utilize LDAP login. I am a web developer, not an LDAP admin. So I am pretty unsure of how this will integrate, but will be working with an LDAP admin to set up the plugin. What I would like to understand is what happens when we provide the LDAP settings? Will all LDAP users be created within WordPress, or do they get created as users login? If we want to create and fill user data with LDAP data, does any of that data get migrated (photos, contact information, etc.) We will utilize custom fields for WordPress, BuddyPress/BBPress profiles. Can these migrate from LDAP? Has it been done?

Thanks for your assistance in learning this plugin’s capabilities.

    Best,
    Tiff

Well Ldap will be used to verify if a user may login, if the user that is trying to login does not already exists in wordpress it will create one for the user. No passwords will be random to prevent a user from logging in again after you deleted him from the ldap tree.

It should be possible to get more data out of ldap but that is not supported currently.

    Best,

    Alex
