Learnpress does not send mails – using a htaccess with proxy setting

Hi there,
we use LP with a proxy steered by htaccess:
#Deny from all
Allow from nnn

this activated – LP does not send any E-Mails enrolling, completing courses, etc.

when we deactivate that – for free internet use – it works fine.
any help here?
