Legacy REST API

Hi,
WooCommerce has added a notification in my dashboard about removing the legacy REST API in WooCommerce 9.0.
I thought my site was not using it, so I have deactivated this legacy API via the WC settings page. But after (re)connecting Sendcloud the legacy API is activated again. So does Sendcloud still use this legacy REST API?

Our integration utilizes the legacy REST API at present. I notified our developers about this planned change to WooCommerce 9.0 so they can implement the necessary updates.
In the article you shared, it’s stated WooCommerce 9.0 will be released in June 2024. Additionally, the latest version released on their GitHub release page is 8.3.1: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/releases

Hi Matthew, thanks for confirming my suspicions that Sendcloud is still using the legacy API. I had a chat with the paid customer support and they tried to convince me that my settings were wrong. Please keep us updated when the new version will be available.

FYI: there’s a plugin avaibale for users that still use the old Legacy REST API after WooCommerce 9.0 is released. Check this link. But hopefully Sendcloud will update their plugin before that.

Our team currently has upgrading our integration for WooCommerce 9.0 on their roadmap, as well as testing the compatibility of the Legacy REST API plugin.
Please ensure the Sendcloud plugin in your WooCommerce backend has Enable auto-updates selected to receive any necessary updates.

Good afternoon.
WooCommerce 9.0 has arrived and the Sendcloud plugin is still using the Legacy REST API. Do we know an approximate date when you will stop using it? To this day it is the only plugin I use that continues to do so.

We are working on the new version of the plugin (which will not make use of the Legacy API anymore). Currently the plan is to have a beta release by the end of July 2024.

Additionally I want to reassure you that, upon upgrading WooCommerce to version 8.8 or newer, the Legacy REST API compatibility plugin is automatically installed and enabled, meaning that no compatibility issue should arise with the Sendcloud plugin upon upgrading to WC 8.8 or newer.
