Less Free Features?

    Good day,
    We have been using the plugin for some time now, over a year. It feels like with every update features gets taken away from the free version to force one to purchase premium. First it was the reports, which is a basic feature…now, we cant view our calendar on mobile anymore at all – which feels silly. If a feature is available on desktop, I should be able to use that feature on mobile?
    I understand this is business – but I would like to know if this trend will continue? Will features continue to be excluded from the free version? Normally one has a free version and new features and developments fall under paid, it feels strange that the free version gets features taken away with each update to force users to purchase the pro version because they are already using the plugin.
    We decided to use this plugin based on the free features that was available at the time – and built our salon around it. If these features were not free, we would not have chosen it to begin with.
    Again, my question is – will this trend continue?
    To close off, I am not unwilling to pay for features – but as a African country our currency is weak against western currencies and the premium price is just not affordable for small businesses in Africa – which again, is why we chose the free version based on its available features.
    I ask this question, because I need to know if I should start looking at other plugins or developing our own system before the SalonBookingSystem plugin becomes completely unusable without paying.

    Hi,

    thank you for sharing your feedback, I can understand your point.

    Just clarify our position:

    • back-end calendar never been optimized for mobile devices, never been responsive and we don’t want our users have not optimal experience by using it on mobile, this is the reason why we developed a dedicated mobile web app
    • as a company we need to keep the business sustainable, if our users don’t perceive the value of the product it’s fair that they look for other tools more aligned to their needs

    I get that (although I don’t agree, the mobile calendar scaled perfectly to mobile), but my question remains – will this trend continue? Will you keep taking away current free features to force people on the free plain to join a paid plan?

    We can’t answer that because things in the digital world change quickly, and we need to move accordingly. I could say no to make you happy, knowing that I can’t be 100% to maintain this promise.
