• After updating the plugin to version 3.2.8, the layout of my lessons is suddenly screwed up. The sidebar that had been hidden before is now shown – and it overlaps the lesson content.

Any idea how to fix that? I can’t find any option to change the page layout anywhere – neither in the course options nor in the lesson editor.

Would really appreciate any ideas how to solve this without having to rewind the update….

Do you edit the code of the LearnPress plugin before?

No, I don’t think I did. And I never had problems with previous updates so far.

Are you asking because the standard layout should be one WITH a sidebar?

How did you get the sidebar to be hidden? Up until this latest update, I wanted the sidebar hidden on a different subsite but couldn’t do it. It was there permanently. Of course since this latest update, the sidebar for me is now flashing out of site after it appears for a short moment. I started my own thread on that one. But I’d love to learn how you got the sidebar to hide in the first place.

Found it for myself at least. . . the sidebar is now automatically hidden, hit the two arrows in the top right to reveal it again.

To be honest, I don’t know. I’m pretty sure it just was that way when I installed the plugin. πŸ™‚ Good to know you found the solution for your own situation. Can you tell me how? Maybe there’s some clue in there for me as well?

In the meantime, I noticed another problem that seems to be related: The left menu bar with the lesson overview stops abruptly, so that the last two lessons cannot be accessed. It’s just not possible to scroll down any further.

I’m currently rewinding the update, but this can only be a temporary solution of course. So I would still be grateful for any advice or ideas.

    Thanks!

What I found was that the new functionality results in the sidebar being hidden automatically, but clicking the two arrows in the top right will show it again. If you leave those clicked, the sidebar stays out.

I’d switched to the fluida theme from the Ixion Theme as learnpress won’t work with the Ixion theme. A subsite I’d set up with learnpress last summer always had the sidebar out, but suddenly it was now hidden. It was when I got poking (I’m a geek, I do that) that I discovered it appears the sidebar was automatically hidden, but would stay out if I had the two arrows pointing the right way to each other.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen two arrows anywhere in the top right. πŸ™‚
Maybe it’s got something to do with the theme ? I’m using Enfold and so far it’s been working ok.

This is how it’s looked in the various themes I’ve tried it with:

This is the sidebar open, notice the arrow directions:

This is the sidebar closed. Notice the arrow directions:

OMG, thanks a lot for the screenshots: They made me notice that I haven’t been very clear in my first post, because I was talking about the RIGHT sidebar.

The left sidebar with the lessons menu is still (mostly) unchanged. Interestingly enough, the button with the arrows is there and works just like you showed in the screenshots – but it doesn’t have any arrows in it, just blank space :-).

Ok. And to date, I’ve never seen Learnpress have it’s own or allow for a right sidebar. I created my own using the Widgitizer plugin, and creating in-page sidebars you add via shortcode, and then putting widgets inside those.

Yeah, something seems to be entirely off after the plugin update. In the meantime I noticed that not only the right sidebar is overlapping the content, the standard theme header is lying over the course header as well.

Sorry BTW for the confusion. :-/

@briantp Do you have any idea what might cause this? After checking and rewinding them separately it’s definitely the plugin update, not the theme update (Enfold) that messed this up.
