• My client really likes the style of the Pinnacle theme but unfortunately I’m finding the home page in particular more restrictive than expected. Some issues that spring to mind:

    1. Is there any way to make the flex slider look the same as the ‘page title’ option? In particular, increase the width to full screen width, and have the caption text higher up on the screen? If not, is it possible to use something like Revolution Slider instead of the built in home slider?

    2. From the demo I assumed that I’d be able to create multiple custom subsections, but it appears that the content is restricted to the five content/layout combinations defined in the theme options section. Is there a way to, for instance, add a standard page content section using the Gutenberg/Kadence blocks system to create the layout? Or maybe add my own custom sections to the theme options?

    3. In the worst case scenario I could build a home page from scratch, but changing the home page in the ‘settings’ section didn’t seem to have any effect. Am I missing something here, or is the home page hardcoded into the theme? Would I be better off creating a child theme and adapting the home page code directly?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Hi @idledev,
    1. From Theme Options > Home Slider you can select “Page Title” from the choose a home slider dropdown. However, this limits your slider area to a single slide. The premium theme has a shortcode output for the home slider, but the free theme does not. However, you could always set the slider to none and add a revolution slider shortcode to the top of your home page content.

    2. You should already see a page content tab in the homepage layout manager. This will pull from whatever you have set to the front page display from Settings > Reading. And just to note, the premium theme has more options in the homepage layout manager.

    3. Do you have page content enabled in the homepage layout manager in theme options?

    Hi @hannahritner

Thanks so much for your response. I didn’t have home page content enabled so I’ve managed to sort that out now.

I’ve been having a look at the premium version and have a couple of questions about that:

If using the Kadence Slider Pro, is it still possible to position the slider behind the header?

Kadence Blocks combined with the default Gutenberg editor seems to offer pretty comprehensive layout options. I’m wondering what’s the advantage of using the Page Builder plugin?

Yes, you can position the slider behind the header when using the kadence slider pro.
As for your page builder question, we actually have been working to make Kadence Blocks a replacement for a page builder plugin. There still is some flexibility and functionality that comes with page builder that you can’t get when using the block editor. But all-in-all Kadence Blocks is a powerful page-building tool. You can see more on Kadence Blocks here: https://www.kadenceblocks.com/
    Hope that’s helpful!
