    Hi there,
I installed your plugin this week and I have been trying to create my course, but everything I try to embed a YT video it wont work.

It shows on my page but as soon as I view lesson its not there, I have tried the embed code and URL, I had the video listed as private and as unlisted and neither seems to be working.

    Any tips, tricks advice?
    Claire

  • @claireb75,

By YT you mean YouTube right? Forgive me. I just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing and that “YT Video” isn’t a plugin or service I just don’t know about!

Assuming we are talking about YouTube then all you need to do is grab the video URL from the address bar and drop it into any of the LifterLMS course or lesson video fields.

You can also simply drop that URL onto it’s own line in the WordPress classic or block editor and it’ll automatically embed that way as well.

Our fields use the oEmbed functionality provided by the WordPress core so it seems really weird that it wouldn’t be working.

Could you help me with some more information so I can help you get this figured out:

    1) Grab a copy of your system report (https://lifterlms.com/docs/how-to-use-the-lifterlms-system-report/) and paste it into something like PasteBin and then give us a copy here

    2) Can you give me an example URL that you’re using? I’d like to try it out on a local site to see if it’s a problem with the video

    3) Provide me with a URL to a *free* lesson where I can see what you’re describing or a URL to a course (with a course video that’s not working).

    4) If you haven’t already, try this out with a default theme (like twenty-nineteen) and disable all other plugins.

Let me know how that goes,
