After updating to Foogallery Pro version 3.0.0, I noticed that I can no longer copy a URL for a lightbox image and open it up in another tab and have the image open. Instead of the image being displayed, just the gallery is displayed. The same happens when I simply click on refresh: the open image display drops back to the gallery. Before the update, I was able to refresh and the image would still be displayed.

This happens on all light box galleries on my site, so it can’t be an erroneous setting on a specific foogallery or gallery page.

The URL still includes the gallery and image IDs after refresh. I have tried this on multiple computers and browsers and get the same result. Furthermore, when I open the full URL (with gallery and image ID) in Google Page Speed Insights, it also only shows the gallery and not the image as it did before 3.0.0. I have cleared all caches (website and browser) and disabled ALL other plugins to no avail.

I have updated to 3.0.1 and now 3.0.2 and the problem is still there. I can revert to an older version, but I don’t see that as a permanent solution.

    Hi @davekrueger

Thanks for alerting us to this.

We’ll be investigating this further and if an issue is identified, we’ll work on a fix and release it as soon as possible. I will update you on this thread if that is done, or if there’s any update on this.

    Thanks

    Hi Dave,

Please can you test 3.0.6 from here : https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/foogallery.3.0.6.zip

That should fix the bug with the deeplinking. Please let me know if that works for you as expected?

Hi. Brad. Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded and installed version 3.06, but I think deep linking is a pro feature which can’t be tested in the free version. WP recognizes that I have a pro license and provides a link to download the upgrade, but the upgrade version that it downloads is the “latest version” which is 3.0.2. In the 3.0.6 version, deep linking is clearly disabled because the gallery and image IDs are not included in image URLs. Unless there’s workaround, I’m assuming I will need to download a pro version of the 3.0.6 code in order to test it.

    hi @davekrueger

Yes you are correct. The best way to get 3.0.6 is to opt-in to beta releases. You can do this by going to FooGallery -> Account and check “Join the Beta program”, then refresh the page and you should be able to update to 3.0.6

That worked! Thanks for the help. I’ve read through a few of the issues posted by other users here and I am impressed with your customer service. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
