lightbo stopped working when…?

hello, am setting up a site on localhost. seems like lightbox worked ok until I went to wp admin…media settings…click off the crop thumbnail selection. I was having problems getting not-square images to load up, images like panorama that will not fit in a square box. that’s the only thing I have changed. but I need the proper proportion more than I need a lightbox. is that what caused it to not work? thanks!
