    Hi,

A recent update to the Blocks for Gutenberg plugin has changed how the Lightbox of Advanced Gallery works.

I have multiple galleries on a single WP post, and prior to the update, all of the images from the multiple galleries would display in the same Lightbox. This has changed in your update (and broken the user experience on my website).

Is there a work-around to get the images from multiple galleries on a single post to display in the same Lightbox (like they used to do)? There is nothing in the documentation for the plugin about it.

    Thank you.

    Hello @tdmarsol,

The Advanced Galleries should show separate lightboxes. I do see an update in v3.1.14 that updated the lightboxes that had the behavior you described. Unfortunately, I don’t have a workaround at the moment to show multiple galleries in a single lightbox.

The usage is that I am adding multiple galleries on the same page to adjust the image sizes displayed. Rather than a random/mosaic tile gallery, it allows me to make some images larger than others–but, I get to select which image. For example:

    • I will lead with a gallery that contains a single, large-sized image.
    • The next block is another gallery, but it contains three medium-sized images that displays at the same width as the previous gallery with the single image.
    • The following block will be another gallery that displays 2 images that fills the same width of the gallery.
    • I repeat these 1, 2, 3, or 4 image galleries down the page in a pattern that is pleasing.

Prior to v3.1.14, when a visitor clicked on an image, the activated lightbox would allow the visitor to cycle through all of the images from all of the galleries.

From a programming sense, I understand why you needed to make them separate galleries. I haven’t looked at the code, but it might be possible to giving the galleries an additional css class that the lightbox script can use instead of the classes auto-generated by the plugin.

Of course, this isn’t a feature request–thank you for responding and answering my question.

    Hello @tdmarsol,

I apologize for the response in delay. Unfortunately, I couldn’t come up with a solution to combine the lightboxes for multiple galleries. However, I will ask the developers if they have a solution and get back to you with more information.

    Hey Gilbert,

Thank you–I appreciate the offer, but this is a very specific feature request. I have a bit of programming experience and will try to develop this on my own!

    Thank you, and best regards,

    Hello @tdmarsol,

I did hear from the developer. This was the response:

We don’t have a way to make all the lightboxes linked. The only way to do it would be to disable the Kadence lightbox option in the gallery and use a plugin (I don’t know of any that would work this way)  or code their own function to override the Kadence Lightbox

    Hi @tdmarsol,

I stumbled upon this thread seeking a solution for this very UI feature. Could you solved it yourself? Do you have any advice for me to achieve it?

    Best regards,
    Champdor
