    Hallo Patrick,

we use WordPress (6.1.1) where we have installed a free version of the passster plugin (3.5.5.8). We use the plugin to password protect certain parts of the content that should not be publicly available.

To create protected content we use Protected Area, where we set a password. The Protected Area shortcode is then inserted on the corresponding page.

The plugin works very well, but we found that it somehow blocks the lighthbox gallery. The images do not open in the lightbox, but in a new window. As long as the gallery is placed outside the Protected Area it works fine. I would like to add that we do not use any page builder.

Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

The password for the protected gallery is: winter123

Best regards and thanks for the plugin.

  • Hey @jukop,

sorry for the late reply, but it seems you found a solution! 🙂

I leave that here for others that may face the same problem:

In case you need to load content dynamically within a protected area (like with Ajax or a Lightbox), you want to activate “Reload after successful validation” in Passster->Options-General.

    Best regards,
    Patrick

    Hey, Patrick,
thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, we haven’t quite managed to find a solution.

Our goal was to make it necessary to log in every time you refresh the page or open the page in a new window.

This is only possible if neither the “Reload after successful authentication” nor the “Use cookie” option is enabled. In that case, however, the Lightbox gallery does not work. And because a working Lightbox gallery is very important to us, we decided to abandon the original idea of always requiring a login and enabled the “Reload after successful validation” option (which causes that the user only needs to log in once every 24 hours).

If you know how to achieve our original goal we would be very grateful to you.

    Best regards,
    Juraj

    Hey @jukop,

    thanks for the explanation!

That is indeed a really specific case that isn’t handled by Passster right now. However, as I’m working on the next major version (4.0), there will be an option to set the unit for the cookie, which should help with that.

From there, you can set the cookie expiration to 1 minute, for example, which is kind of like a always need to login solution.

    Best regards,

    Patrick
