Same problem.
I have disabled almost every plugin, but it does not help me get the scroll-thru option back.
I can select one picture and must then go back to overview and select a new one.
I have gone back, many version of NextGen, but with no effect.
It must be something deeper in the wordpress ‘core’.
I installed this plugin and it solved the lightbox problem on my site! Very happy.

In case we can replicate the problem, we will ask the rest of the community to issue a bug report.
The only option that works correctly now is “Simplelightbox”. For me all the other options remove the arrows and the close box.

That shouldn’t happen.
We checked all those lightbox effects, and they are working correctly.
If you check our link again, each lightbox effect includes different signifiers, so not all of them look or behave in the same way

Have you tried to remove the plugin and re-install it back again?
If the problem persists, you probably need to check for conflicts.
– Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
– Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
– If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme, it could be a conflict with your current theme.
