Lightbox not working with OceanWP theme

    I set up a post using the Advanced Gallery block and enabling lightbox and all was fine. Then I switched to the theme OceanWP and the lightbox no longer works – I just get the bigger version of the image.

    I added the OceanWP Extra plugin which adds Theme Panel and went to Scripts and Styles to disable the Lightbox and still no luck.

    I tried there, the scripts that would load in the footer were not there.

    I tried on my own local testing with oceanWP and didn’t have any issue with the gallery and turning on the lightbox.

    Did you disable the lightbox in OceanWP? It wasn’t working before or after I did that though.

    This is weird. I sure do appreciate your fast response.

    I’m not sure what to try next. I’m also having the problem with the client’s site on a development server. Since I can’t link to that, I spun up a quick demo on local.

    I turned the lightbox in Ocean WP back on and now I am getting a lightbox. (Bangs head on desk) BUT it doesn’t go to the next image. Just pops up the one image in a lightbox.

    Looks like they are overriding the block lightbox, and from what you are saying, when you turn it off in their lightbox settings instead of turning off their own lightbox init they prevent magnific pop from even loading which prevents the block lightbox from loading.

    You should contact Ocean WP and ask if they have a way you can just prevent their js initiation of magnific pop from running instead of preventing magnific pop from being able to be loaded at all.

    Makes sense. Just to clarify is Magnific lightbox what does the prev/next image? And the lightbox that is appearing must be another lightbox?

    Thanks so much. I appreciate your help. This plugin looks like what I need if I can just get it to work.

    Hmm, could I add the script needed in functions.php?

    Just to clarify is Magnific lightbox what does the prev/next image?

    No, it’s the lightbox js plugin. see here: https://dimsemenov.com/plugins/magnific-popup/

    How the plugin is initiated determines if it’s going to open as a gallery or not, my guess is that OceanWP is just adding the lightbox to all images and it doesn’t have code to tell that the Kadence Gallery is a Gallery. Maybe they will add that?

    Hmm, could I add the script needed in functions.php?

    Best to talk with OceanWP about the best method.
