Hi. I love this plugin but sometimes it is much easier to create a regular Gutenberg gallery, especially if there are just a few images (possibly 1) in it. I was thinking it would be great if we can turn on the VP’s lightbox features for all images/galleries on the website, like a standard Lightbox plugin. This way, we don’t have to use a separate plugin, and also the design will be consistent. Have you considered adding this?

    Hi.

Yes, I totally understand. We are working on a v2.0 update, that will contain a full-featured block for Gutenberg. https://twitter.com/nkdevv/status/1255460242995007489

I don’t think that popup will be added automatically to all core galleries. In any case, this is not in plans yet.

Awesome! I would only suggest to let us filter the Gutenberg galleries from the VP layouts we’ve made on the backend, since the Gutenberg probably will be many and with just a few items, while the regular VP ones are usually with more items and used for portfolios. Otherwise it may be a bit of a hassle to find the gallery we need in the layouts. Thank you and stay safe!

And for single images with light box, would we need to create a VP gallery with a single item inside?

    Hey @logaritym

I thought about your question and decided to integrate a simple setting, that will add popup galleries on default WordPress galleries and images. It will be useful.

I’m not sure, that it will be added in 2.0 version, but in the v2.1 it will be added for sure.

That’s great nK! It can be something like Featherlight Lightbox, where images/galleries with links to the media become lightboxed, but with the same features as VP. This way, we can disable the lightbox plugin and also be more consistent. Thank you so much, you are the best!
