This isn’t a built-in feature, but we do have a code snippet here that should do what you need: https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/javascript-examples/#kb-limit-the-number-of-checked-boxes

The best place to add this code is either in your Theme’s footer section or the “After Fields” section of your Form Settings → “Customize HTML” tab.
