limit display

Is there any way to limit number for each link category if I use [link-library settings=1].
The “Max number of links to display” in link element settings is designed for whole display links.
I have several link categories, and there are many links in each category. If I set N to “Max number of links to display”, only first N links are displayed. I want that first N links of each category can be displayed. Then “Read more…” is put on bottom of each category link list,so user can click it to find more.
