Hmmm… I see something now.
When I choose a category and I choose a number of posts per page, it indeed shows only those posts.
But when I don’t choose anything at Taxonomy, it will serve me 4 posts, no matter what number I fill in at the posts per page…
Even when I choose category at the Taxonomy, and when leave the actual category blanc, it will serve me 4 posts.
So still the questions remain…
Okay, I found the random stuff under more settings…
So only the first question remains.
What I’m trying to show is the latest 3 posts.

You should just be able to set your posts per page setting to 3, and don’t turn on pagination π
Hey Tom,
I can get it to work IF I choose a category.
But I want to show the 3 most recents posts irrespective of the category. How do I do that? When I leave the category empty it serves me more images than 3. Yesterday it was 4, now it shows me 6.
Adventurous greetings,
Coen
You can see my attempts at my new homepage:
new.landcruisingadventure.com
The first row of images must match the rest of the rows below.
Adventurous greetings,
Coen
I am noticing that as we add new posts, this row op posts just starts to fill up.
How can I cap it at 3?

Just tried it and it works for me without setting any category. Here are my settings: https://www.screencast.com/t/U1AQZocQBLd6
Are yours the same?
Heya Tom, thank you for helping me out. Just got internet again…
Mine are exactly the same, but the results are not π
How can that happen?
I also tried to enter the shortcode in a Elementor section. And although it only shows me 3 images in the preview. Once the page loads on the website, it shows me more than 3.
I solved it for me on another way by creating a new category new and manually adding the latests post to that…

Wow, not sure how your replies slipped by – I’m usually notified of everything.
Sorry about that – glad you were able to find a solution!
