Limiting list info in Eventnotes

I only want to show in a list about half of what I have in the eventnotes section of a post. Is there any way to limit what is shown?
Or as a workaround, putting info in after the notes but separately?
I’m using Graphene as my theme, and I tried using their action hook ‘before comments’, but it is unrecognized in the Events Manager posts.
