Limiting Page Controls for editors/contributors
-
Hello everyone,
I am new to creating websites, WordPress and these forums. However, I have been finding many great posts that lead me here via Google that helped me make the site that I have right now: http://www.xenosource.net.
I’ve been able to create what I have with just time and energy, but I have run into a wall and I think I may have made a critical error. I don’t want to move forward and destroy my Dashboard database.
I’m trying to give my users the ability to create their own page, but only under the “Contributor” section of my site. In the Dashboard, I have assigned only specific users to be a contributor.
Unfortunately, I deleted the contributor and tried to re-create it with the Members plugin (made by Justin Tadlock). However, after I installed Role Scoper (made by WP community), my contributor can’t view any pages on my site when logged in. I suspect it is because I deleted the original contributor predefined by WordPress.
Under Roles, my editor has 19 capabilities and contributor has 10 capabilities even though I have to same boxes checked for both Roles.
How do I fix the original contributor? Better yet, how do I achieve my original goal and limit users to only create and edit one page under the “Contributor” section?
Thanks,
Xenoflare
