Link Advanced Options
-
In previous versions of WordPress, whenever I clicked a link in the Gutenberg editor, I could rapidly see the “open in new tab” and “set to nofollow” options. With the new WordPress 6.3 update, that’s no longer possible. Now, I have to click the link, click on “Edit”, and then click again on “Advanced Features”. No more a seamless experience, now taking more time to select a simple option. I would love if you could revert this in your next update.

You’re welcome to contribute to the issue here:
https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/52216
and you can test some new functional behaviour here:
“In fact, by default, all links should open in new tabs.”
Yes, WordPress could at least differentiate internal from external links, making only the latter open in a new tab.
I just tested this using the Gutenberg Plugin (Version 16.5.1) and the “Open in new tab” check is right there. This is what I see:
@neoswf, I was not able to reproduce what you desacribe. Could you please open a separate support thread for your issue?

On a desktop or a laptop, right? This does work on my laptop but not on either my tablet (Samsung Tab A) or phone (Pixel 6), using multiple browsers.
There should be no differences between laptop or table, @mocha24
Have you tried clicking on the link once you paste the URL? The checkbox should show then.
