link and sub link?

I am 100% new to blogging, 100% new to word press, and 100% new to html

1 – How do I remove the “Home” page?

2 – I happened upon a bloggers site and noticed something nifty he has. He has basically 3 pages. Within each page were 5 links which were categories.

Ex: Hobbies (hobbies was clickable)
Work (work was clickable)
ETC
Once clicked, it would take me to a new page (but that page wasnt listed as one of the pages or tabs from main screen) and each page had 10 links like above and that would take them to the real article.
How can I do that?

3 – I would like my main page to be a big picture that takes up the entire screen. I want no header or anything. I would like the picture to be clickable to take people to the home screen that would originally be there.
