I was wondering how you might change the default (body text) link color. I went into style.css and changed all instances of color under section 5 LINKS but for some reason the link color does not change.

I find the default link color hard to distinguish from body text and would like to adjust it bit.

    thanks

    Steve

  • Hi thrint,

Make sure you are using a Child Theme or a custom CSS plugin to make your changes. If you alter the theme’s style sheet, those changes may be lost if the theme is updated.

Please also provide a link to your site so we can help you with your specific issue.

    Thanks!

Actually it is not on my site yet, so it is not available on the internet. I am running a copy of the site on my Mac using MAMP.

I am perfectly aware that updating the style.css file leave me open to losing the changes but I am OK with that. Not thrilled about yet another plugin and I will look into the child theme procedure but it might be more than I can handle.

Any chance you could point out where else in style.css (or elsewhere) that link color is defined?

    Hi Thrint,

I’m sorry, but without being able to see your site and inspect it, there wouldn’t be a way for me to tell you where that link color is being defined. My best suggestion is for you to use Firebug for Firefox or a your browser’s built-in inspection tools to see what rules are being applied to the links.

go to “go to Appearance > Customize”, and then click on the “Colors” tab.
you can set the “Accent color” of your web site and modify the link color.
you can find here theme documentation: http://design.altervista.org/thebox-documentation/
