    Dear Yannick,

I’m a huge fan of this plug-in and I’ve been using it for my small, private WordPress site for years. However since version 6.0 I’ve been struggling with being unable to order links the way I need to. We have one category with 114 links that need to be ordered by the date a project was completed (which is not always the date it is submitted or updated!) . Project links are sometimes submitted out of order, which would create quite a headache if we had to manually reorder them all each time!! So I’m eager to know if you are close to offering a custom ordering solution, or if you have any workaround ideas (even a wonky one, like a script for the database)?

Thanks for being an awesome developer.

Thanks for nudging me to look into this. I think I have found a nice and clean solution to allow you to re-order items. You will first need to update to the latest version of Link Library which I just published.

    – Install the Simple Custom Post Order plugin on your site (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/simple-custom-post-order/)

    – After the plugin has been activated, go to the plugin’s Settings page and check the boxes for the Link Library port type and Link Library Categories taxonomy (if you want to also be able to sort categories), then Update the SCPOrder settings

    – Go to the Links tab of your Library configuration and set the order to ‘Order specified by Simple Custom Post Order Plugin’

    – Go to the All Links page and re-order links via drag-and-drop operations. You can also use the category filter to only see links from one category at a time.

You do not need to save anything after you change the order of links via drag-and-drop.

Please confirm if this addresses your needs and consider donating to support this plugin’s development.

Thank you! I’ll try this immediately.

Works like a dream! I would mention that reordering the links on the All Links page is deceptively simple. It took me a moment to realize that the links can just be dragged up and down now. Very cool.

Thank you, once again, for being an awesome developer.
