Linkable excerpt

I just want to ask if it is possible to create a linkable excerpt? I want my excerpt to link to another webpage.

i tried this
[expand title="Trigger Title" elwraptag="div" elwrapclass="brown" excerpt="<a href="http://twitter.com">Check out my Twitter</a>"]

but its not working.

Do you guys have any idea?
