Please go to WordPress Dashboard => Posts/Pages => Select Post/page and edit it => You will find Post meta box of Smooth slider below content area => Basic tab => Slide link URL => Put your URL and Update Post/page. On front end your added URL will appear for Read more text, Image and Slide title.
You can also add external image in slider using “Custom Thumbnail Image(Url)” option which is available in Advance tab of Post Meta box.
