Linking the text overlay

I added a text overlay to my slider using the instructions posted here, http://jleuze.com/plugins/meteor-slides/customizing-the-slideshow-template/ , and it works as advertised. My problem is that my slides are linked to other pages, but when I scroll over the text overlay it’s no longer part of the link. The problem is mostly aesthetic, because the user can still click on the image and go to the page, but I would prefer the text overlay containing the title to be linked as well. How could I do that?
