Generally, the way to make links in your site is:
Type the text you want to make into a link
Highlight the text
Click the link button
In the pop-up, type or paste the URL for the link
Click Add Link
how do I post link in the support forums so others can tell me what they think of my site
The only place to do that is on this forum:
http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/forum/your-wordpress
Scroll down to make a new thread on that sub-forum.
All you have to do is include the URL of your site starting with http:// – it will become a link automatically.
Hi WPyogi. Thanks for the info, but I can’t find any of it. The only place in my dashboard where I find anything discussing links is in the settings section, where there is a permalink feature. I tried copying the one that is highlighted, but nothing happens. Where is there a place to type in the text, highlight it and view a Link button? When I say I’m a beginner, I mean go back to start.
The above refers to when you are adding a link to content you are putting on your site (i.e. creating a post or page). I’m not totally sure what you are trying to do – though if you are reading outdated documentation, it may be talking about the Links Manager which was removed from WP Core in 3.5 – but you can add it back by installing this plugin:

Hi WPyogi. What I want to do is – be able to go to other sites, discussion groups, etc. and put a link to my site or one of the posts on my site so that people can immediately go there. I’m a writer/artist/musician and I’ve posted stories, poems and music on my site. How do I drop a link in other places so that people can click it and go to my website? Oh, and I did download the Links Manager. Thank you, though I’m not sure how to use it yet.
