Heya. Go to main webpage, click any link in Category Grid

Window opens in same tab with 404

You can reproduce pretty easily by going to my homepage and doing the same

    Hello, @mindtakerminis.

    Thanks for the further clarification.

Upon inspecting the URL after clicking on the link, it appears that something is injecting a stray double-quote and/or “fixing” slashes in your link, so the browser treats it as a relative path and prepends your domain. This can happen for several reasons, including:

    • An HTML/URL sanitizer or minifier, such as a cache/optimization, security, CDN, or “fix broken links” plugin.
    • Manual link field with a pasted URL that includes quotes
    • Custom theme/child-theme filter that rewrites links.
    • Affiliate/cloaking/redirect plugins altering href attributes.

To troubleshoot further, I recommend the following steps:

    • Deactivate all plugins, except Elementor, to see if the issue persists.
    • Check any manual links entered into the widgets’ settings.
    • Temporarily switch to a different theme to disable any custom code/modifications on the theme.
    • Confirm that the WordPress Address and Site Address are displayed correctly under WP > Settings > General.
    • Try flushing the Permalinks by going to Settings → Permalinks and clicking Save (no changes needed) to regenerate rules.

Hope this helps! If the issue persists, let us know.

    Heya.

So I did these two in my initial troubleshooting.

    • Confirm that the WordPress Address and Site Address are displayed correctly under WP > Settings > General.
    • Try flushing the Permalinks by going to Settings → Permalinks and clicking Save (no changes needed) to regenerate rules.

But this is only affecting the Elementor links in those grids. There are no manual links in there. I would buy the cache/etc if it was affecting other links, but it is not.

There is no manual link in the Grid See attached image, I just choose categories and Elementor creates the links

I created a test page with the same Category Grid that wasn’t on the homepage and it is not showing the same behavior.

So, I have no idea about root cause, but was able to recreate the items and uncheck the ‘Make Product Item Clickable’ slider in the Grid settings. That made it so the links are, strangely enough, clickable and work properly.

I’ve been running with that setting for a while, which is real weird.

    Hi, @mindtakerminis.

Thank you for the update, and I’m glad to hear you were able to find a resolution!

After viewing the screenshot, I realized this is actually a widget from a third-party plugin (Crocoblock). If you encounter any further issues with this widget, I highly recommend reporting this to Crocoblock’s support team so they can investigate and recommend a fix. If they require our assistance during their troubleshooting, they are welcome to open an issue on our GitHub account, and our developers will be happy to collaborate with them.

    (For reference: [What We Support])

For now, I’ll go ahead and close this thread. Please feel free to open a new one should you require assistance in the future.

    Kind Regards.
