Does the user account you’re logged in with have the role of ‘Admin’?
Yes, I believe so. How and where do I check that? All of my permissions are so that the one user I have (me) should have access, as far as I know.
I”m not sure of the terminology, let me say again…
When I log in to “site admin” from my blog page I only see:
Dashboard, Write, Manage and Profile
Under Manage I onle see: Posts, Comments, and Awaiting Moderation.
I used to be able to access manage links, options, themes, things like that.
I guess it’s my “sub panels” that are no longer available or visible.
What you’re describing (as in what is available to access under the admin pages) certainly sounds like “Author” — at least in regards to the role assigned to the user login.
All I can suggest for checking this is, with access to your actual database, look through the usermeta table and see what value appears for the “capabilities” meta_key on that specific user (match up on the user ID).
I’ve found the usermta table and am looking around and it really doesn’t make sense to me. Do you know if there is a more specific description of how to do that? I don’t see any user IDs.
Is there maybe another thread that spells it out? It’s way over my head.
Thanks again.
Ok, I”m a total )*(^*&*^ idiot. Please forget you ever saw my name associated with this stupidity!
Um. I drove myself nuts logged in as my name, and not admin. Which was your first question.

Thank you for your help. I will now be going to the wp.com site!
