    Hi All, im new to WordPress but have a basic understanding of code form using dreamweaver, can you all post some clear helpful video tutorial links to help me

    A) understand WP layout/menus/editing
    B) how to edit themes
    C) useful plug-ins

    i was told SEO plug-ins were better than paying for services from my host (Godaddy)? is this true? if so, what plug-ins work for you?

    SEO by Yoast is a good plugin.

    Best way to edit themes is by creating a child-theme. That way you will still receive updates to the theme. You can do a search for child themes on this site to find out how to set that up.

    You can activate jetpack and that will allow you to edit the css without having to alter the theme css file.

    trial and error always works well too, and when you get stuck there are plenty of knowledgeable people on these forums that will try and help.

    Also try searching for YouTube videos on WP – though do be aware that they can be outdated as WP changes over time.
