I’ve only just started playing with The Events Calendar plugin, but have one quick question that I haven’t been able to find any info on from searching. When using the list view is there a way to have it display X number of upcoming events regardless of the month? For example, in playing today, I through a few different events upcoming in July, but when the Event page loads with list view as the default, it filters to June events and just shows “No Events to Display”. Given the lower frequency of events on the site I’m building this for, it may be common to have months with no events, so being able to show a full list without filtering to the current month would be preferred. Is this possible?

    Hi @moebius01,

    Thanks for reaching out!

While listing events at the frontend, the List view makes use of value configured for Number of events to show per page option, under Events > Settings > General and lists that many events on each page,

Kindly try increasing the value assigned to this option to force the list view to display more number of events.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Masood

I tried increasing it, but no change. It seems all views are filtered to the current month. As a test, I created an event in June to add to the several events I have created in July. When I load the page, only the 1 event from June shows, no matter what I have set in the “Number of events to show per page” option. I’m assuming the query that is used to pull Events in to the page is built to filter to current month or something.

Hi @moebius01, that’s weird. Sorry to hear that you’re having this issue. For us to investigate further, could you provide us with a direct URL to your website?

Moreover, could you provide the following versions?

    1. WordPress
    2. PHP
    3. The Events Calendar

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

I made an interesting discovery while I was tinkering last night and this may be related to a conflict with either Elementor or more specifically Essential Addons, which has a calendar widget supporting The Event Calendar. In short, while I was poking around with different themes yesterday (I think it was when I added OceanWP) and I noticed that the Events page I had built had been replaced with a template version (I couldn’t click Edit With Elementor any longer), and that version seemed to work. There was a search function (which I had not used) and the display was somewhat different. I created a new page with Elementor again and added the widget and the old functionality was there. You can see the difference here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ai2SYx24C6EKiNfY8 The template version doesn’t filter to current month, has a search function and slightly different layout. I also added a screenshot when I select the next month (July) in the view where the items from July populate.

I’m going to dig a bit to see if I can isolate the trigger for this, but using the widget in the Elementor built page definitely experiences this issue, where the default template (whichever theme created it) doesn’t.

    As for versions:
    Wordpress – 6.0
    PHP – 8.0.17
    The Events Calendar – 5.16.1.1
    (for reference)
    Elementor – 3.6.6
    Essential Addons – 5.1.7

Hi @moebius01, thanks for getting back to me, and I appreciate you taking the time to share this information here. Please do keep us posted. I would also share this with the team.

Here’s a guide for testing for conflicts that you could follow:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/

Moreover, it seems you are using PHP 8, which is still incompatible with our plugins. We’d recommend you downgrade to PHP 7.4 — it would be best to use this version, which we fully support.

    See the article here:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/php-8-support/.

Please do the testing on a staging site and have a working backup of your website.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz
