Lists?

Am I loosing my mind? i feel like it!
i’m looking to make a basic drop down list and regular coding isnt working

what i’m looking for is something like

businesses;
then a drop down menu not clickable just a list of business i need to have listed and i don’t want it to take up all the page so im looking for a drop down menu basically..
