Hi When I create a 4 column page I get a server error when I try to launch live composer. All other pages work fine as long as they are not 4 columns

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Four module areas, correct? Does it happen with 5 or more columns?

“500 Internal Server Error” does not give much info ( actually it gives no indication to where the bug occurred and what caused it ), a lot of things can cause that error to show. But the hosting provider has more info on what caused the error in their error logs. So, contact them about giving you the contents of the error log and then pass it on to me here.

I’m quite sure it’s not related to the number of module areas ( LC has been around for 2 years, such an issue would come up by now ), I assume it’s hitting some kind of limitation on the hosting, most likely PHP memory limit.

If the error logs show “Fatal error: Allowed memory size of XXXXXX bytes exhausted” then that is definetely what’s going on.

PHP memory limit issue is not uncommon with WordPress, especially when there are big plugins. The WordPress codex has a page on that issue.

Resolving that issue is simple, just contact the hosting provider and ask for PHP memory_limit to be increased. Some hosting providers have the option to increase that in your control panel, but it depends on the hosting.
