Load basic featured image and gallery always

    Hi,

    Again, great plugin and great support!

    Following up on my comments on another post here to keep things separate.

    My single product has nearly 300 variations. I don’t plan on trying to add images to any variation.

    When a variation is selected before “adding to cart”, the plugin doesn’t show the basic featured image and gallery, as designed.

    Because I don’t plan to add variation images to any variations, I would like the basic featured image and gallery to show regardless of what variations might be selected.

    Would it be possible to add a checkbox to “Load basic featured image and gallery always”? That is, show the same featured image and gallery no matter what variation is selected?

    Hi @spdctrl,

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    If you want to show the default feature image when the variation is selected, you have to simply check the ‘Include Feature Image – To Variation Gallery‘ option from the General Settings. Check the screenshot for a better understanding.

    We have tested the feature on several setups and it worked out perfectly. If the feature image doesn’t show after checking the option, we would request you share the product link with us. You can also check if there is any error in the browser console or not.

    Thanks much for the feedback. And sorry for my poor communication.

    Yes, I agree, the featured image does show correctly when a variation is selected. Your plugin works as expected!

    What I (and I believe others) are requesting is for the entire GALLERY to always show, even when a variation is selected.

    In other words, as the plugin works now, when there is no variation selected, the gallery is shown. When a variation is selected, that variation image or the featured image is shown, but no gallery.

    In a future version of the plugin, could there be an option that the gallery is ALWAYS shown, regardless of whether or not a variation is selected?

    Hopefully that clarifies things, but please let me know if it doesn’t!

    Thanks for the clarification. Yes, showing default gallery images when the variation is selected is available but not in the lite version of the plugin. Check the feature here.

    We will discuss this request with the higher authorities. If they consider we will include the feature in the lite version as well in the future.

    Ah yes, I think that option is what I was requesting, thanks Pulak!

    I think it would be beneficial to move that to the lite version of the plugin to gather a larger install base, but that’s a business decision.
