I’m sorry, but our system works that way, that our slider has to load last, because we are positioning everything based on the loaded CSS and JavaScript codes on the website, so we have to wait until your website is completely built up to know how big our slider can be and where the layers should be. This behavior cannot be changed.
Is it possible for us to insert a thumbnail before the slider loads? So that the page doesn’t have a huge empty white space for 2 seconds.
Hi @lisawang123
Yes, but it’s a Pro only feature. As per the the forum rules, the Pro version can’t be discussed here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products
If you would like to continue the conversation about this Pro feature, please open a support ticket: https://smartslider3.com/contact-us/support/
Also, that image will still need some time to load, so the real solution would be fixing the problem with your site’s speed.
I run a speedtest on your site: https://tools.pingdom.com/#5b6ec998e5c00000
Your total pagesize is 35.6 MB – that’s not a small page, and for this size, the 3.68s loading time isn’t that bad actually.
If you want to lower the loading time, you should start reducing the page size. You’re loading 8 images which are greater than 1MB. (And none of these are coming from the slider.) Reduce these sizes as best as you can. Generally, no image should be more than 1MB.
Currently these images take up 26.9MB – if you lower them to a maximum of 1MB size, you can save 18.9, which is almost half of your current page size.
I have submitted the tickets. By thumbnail, I mean an image that is very similar to the actual slider.
