Load speed

Is there anything I can do to get my load time to speed up? I’m using 4 different slide shows on one page and it waits for all 4 to load. Any chance I can get at least one to load quickly while the other three load in the background?
Each image ranges from 70-100kb @ 348px x 261px, is that too large?
