Loading only video on click

    Hi there,

    I am looking for a way to add a Vimeo video to me site with a shortcode, which only loads the video when you click a link. I thought I could maybe use SS3 but I am now not so sure.

    When I add a video to an SS3 slider and load that slider on a page, when that page loads it also loads the whole video (even before it starts playing).

    Is there not a way that the video files only load once you click on a slider link etc?

    Hi @dav74!

    I’m sorry, but we only got a feature in the pro version of our slider which would allow you to have a Vimeo video in our slider, which doesn’t load with your page. That feature would be the lightbox:

    In the free version the best I could suggest is to just simply have your video’s url in the link. If you look at this template slider:

    we did the same with that “watch the video” button and it doesn’t seems like a terrible solution.

    It is on our to do list to create a lazy loading for layers too, but with our current system that wouldn’t be very compatible. Hopefully we can figure out something for these issue in the future!

    Well I have the pro version so that is OK 🙂

    1. How do I get a slider to load in a specific size? I set the slider size in the “Size” settings, but when I add the shortcode to the page the slider is full width.

    I am trying to make the slider look liek an image thumbnail, which when you click on it loads a lightbox with the video.

    Ach sorted! I had “upscale” selected, so I have disabled that and all OK…
    I have some more questions, but will post via your website…
