Loading times slow on variations – Loading text?

Hey there,
I have a lot of variations, I’m aware it’s not a great idea but I can not have any fewer. The load times are massive. I’ve tried the Ajax threshold code in the functions.php with no change at all.

Is there a way of speeding this up? Finding out why the code makes no difference? OR is there a way of having a “Calculating price” notice once all the variations are chosen and the price is being calculated?

I’m reaaaaly hoping you can help me as you’re my last chance. Thanks in advance
