seems I managed to fix it with renaming /wp-contenct/plugins/wp-simple-firewall to /wp-contenct/plugins/wp-simple-firewall.old

A 500 error for that is very strange… you should chat to your webhost and ask them to review the apache error logs and see what comes up. There is a very weird problem there.

I’m my own webhost, and I don’t see anything strange in the logs.
I have limited knowledge so I can’t do alot. I’ve just removed and reinstalled the plugin.

also, the Error 500 happens when I try to login. the site itself and such still works

If you’re running your own webhost you need to be able to review your apache logs when you get errors and especially 500 errors. It’s the only way to know what’s going on.

Have a Google around based on your setup to find apache error logs

I am able to review them, but all I saw where just a bunch of 404s and 200s.
but I managed to fix it with a reinstall. might be just some bad config I did or a plugin conflict?

    thanks anyways

ahh, perhaps it was a dud install… it happens. Glad it’s sorted.
