Log “Search” function failing

I tried searching the forum for answers, but you can image what I got using “search log” as my term.
I sent >50 emails. I’m looking at the log in the Dashboard. I see the recipient I’m interested in. I place the first few letters of their email address in the Search box and hit “Filter/Search”. Result is “No items found.” I try again with date range from yesterday to tomorrow. Same result
Any reason why my Search is failing?
