Logging into other sites

    A political blogger I’ve encountered asks readers to log in via WordPress in order to leave comments. He has no other login method. I hadn’t done so, reluctant for security concerns to share anything to do with my WP login with other sites. But that has led to two questions: (1) is it safe after all, and (2) why does his login not work anyway when I try it?

    I checked that the login I use regularly in order to use this support forum matches the one I use to log into WP as admin to update my own site regularly. I’m embarrassed that I don’t remember how I set up my WP admin in the first place, but there you go! Of course, I’m also reluctant to see if I can log into this other blog by resetting the WP password, afraid that would actually bar access to my own work in WP or to here.

    All WordPress sites are entirely self-contained. You won’t use your WordPress site’s login on someone else’s site.

    Instead you’ll register as a new user on their site, then you can log in to their site with that to comment.

    Also, ww.wp.xz.cn is entirely separate from your site too, so there’s no need to make sure that the two logins match.
