What if someone who doesn’t have an account with WordPress wants to post? I would like anyone to be able to signup to my blog without necessarily having their own WordPress account. Is this possible with this plugin?

What do you mean with “to sign up without having a WordPress account”?

When they sign up on your website they have to create a WordPress account on your website.

Guest posting (without an account) is not possible yet but planned for a future version of the plugin, see this ticket:
